Jennifer Battson Warren - Executive Director, Jefferson City, MO. Jennifer joined as Executive Director after a 31 year career at the Missouri Department of Conservation. Jennifer received her degree in forestry from the University of Missouri-Columbia prior to joining MDC. Jennifer served in many roles during her tenure with MDC, from field work and forestry, to GIS, private lands conservation, wildlife management planning, and administration. For her last 8 years she served as the Deputy Director for Business and Operations, providing oversight for human resources, infrastructure, IT, budget, financial services, grants, and realty.

Jason Green - Director of Forestry & Stewardship, Salem, MO. Jason completed a BS degree in biology (wildlife and ecology emphasis) from Southeast Missouri State University in 2005. He earned a Master of Science degree in forestry at the University of Missouri and began working for Pioneer Forest as a forester in 2007. In 2013, he succeeded Terry Cunningham as Pioneer Forest Manager. Jason also serves as an affiliate director of the Missouri Forest Products Association.

Brandon Kuhn - Chief Forester, Salem, MO. Brandon joined Pioneer Forest in August 2009. He graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia with a Bachelor of Science degree in fisheries, wildlife, and forestry. He was previously employed by the Current River Timber Company in Licking, Missouri. In 2013, Brandon was promoted to Chief Forester.

Dana Morris
Since 2024

Dana Morris - Chief Ecologist, Salem, MO.  Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Fisheries & Wildlife Sciences and a PhD in Biological Sciences at the University of Missouri. Prior to joining the Foundation, she worked as a professor at Central Methodist University. During her tenure, she worked to restore native habitat at the CMU Besgrove-Hodge Wildlife Sanctuary, learning about pollinator ecology, prescribed burning, and invasive species management. While at CMU she was also director of the Stephens Museum of Natural History

Adrienne Lauf - Business Manager, St. Louis, MO. Adrienne received her Bachelor and Master's degree in Accountancy from the University of Missouri in 2008. She worked as an auditor with a Big 4 accounting firm before attending law school. She received her Juris Doctorate from St. Louis University in 2013, and spent several years practicing family law, with a focus on financially complex matters.  Adrienne returned to an accounting role, spending several years with a St. Louis area school district before joining the St. Louis office as the Business Manager in November 2021.

Matt Skaggs - Field Supervisor, Salem, MO. Matt joined Pioneer in 2012 as a forest technician and served many years before taking a management position with MFA. He returned to Pioneer in 2019 as a field supervisor. Matt is the third generation of the Skaggs family to work for Pioneer Forest. He graduated from University of Missouri-Columbia with a bachelor’s degree in animal science and holds a Master of Education degree from Drury University.  Matt is based out of Bunker.

Neal Humke - Land Stewardship Coordinator, St. Louis, MO. Neal worked with The Nature Conservancy in Iowa, Virginia, and Missouri before joining the L-A-D Foundation in 2014. Neal earned a Bachelor of Science degree in landscape architecture from Iowa State University and serves on the board of the Ozark Trail Association. He oversees the Foundation's Missouri Natural Areas and Pioneer's Forest Reserves and Special Ecological Management Areas.

Clay Jensen – Forester, Piedmont, MO. Clay is a 2019 graduate of the forestry program at the University of Missouri-Columbia. Before coming to work full-time, Clay completed an internship with Pioneer Forest during the summer of 2019. He is based out of Piedmont, Missouri and oversees lands in the Ellington area.

 

Hunter Gordon
Since 2022

Hunter Gordon - Forester, Ellington , MO. Hunter is a graduate of the forestry program at the University of Missouri - Columbia. While at the University, Hunter also worked as a research assistant at the Baskett Wildlife Education and Research Center in Ashland, MO. Hunter comes to Pioneer Forest after working 4 years with the Missouri Department of Conservation. Hunter joined the Pioneer staff in February of 2022.

Luke Sullivan - Forester, Salem, MO. Luke is a graduate of the forestry program at the University of Missouri - Columbia. While at the University, Luke researched oak diseases and decline, and regeneration issues. Luke comes to Pioneer Forest after working for Missouri Department of Conservation. Luke joined the Pioneer staff in October of 2023.

Neal Christensen - Technician, District Forester, Van Buren, MO. Neal comes to Pioneer Forest after working 10 years with the Missouri Department of Conservation, including three years spent as a Resource Technician conducting timber sale administration. He lives in Van Buren and joined the Pioneer staff in July 2015.

Forest technician Sam Jewett
Since 2022

Sam Jewett - Technician, Summersville, MO. Sam began work at Pioneer Forest in 2022 after spending 17 years working for the Missouri Department of Conservation in forest resource management. As a Resource Technician and Crew Leader Sam spent most of his time there cruising timber and conducting timber sale administration, and he participated in prescribed and wildland fire activities.

Nolan Sipe - Natural Resource Ecologist, Salem, MO. Nolan joined L-A-D Foundation in 2024. Nolan received a Bachelors of Science in Biology and Environmental Studies from Manchester University before working as a private forestry technician in Indiana. Joined the L-A-D Foundation as the Natural Resource Ecologist after completing a Masters degree in Natural Resources focused on Applied Ecology at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. There he studied the effects that patch-burn grazing had on the wildlife diversity and health of a mixed-grass prairie.

JR Lanham
Since 2021

JR Lanham -- Feral Hog Trapper.  JR is employed on a part-time basis to concentrate on eradicating feral hogs on Pioneer Forest. He was personally responsible for removal of 272 of the 337 hogs eliminated on Pioneer Forest in 2021.

Chandra Sutton - Administrative Assistant. Chandra joined the team in May 2023 as our first administrative assistant in Salem. A native of Salem, she spent the past 8 years as the office assistant for a local business, and brings more than 20 years of experience to our organization.
